Cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology are becoming increasingly popular in the Philippines. To keep up with these fast-evolving digital and financial landscapes, more universities are now offering educational sessions for students.
Coach Miranda Miner leads this effort, also known as Arlone “Paul” Abello. He is an investor, crypto market analyst, and CEO of Elite University and FEASTGold, Web3 learning platforms. In 2022, his company, Global Miranda Miner Group (GMMG), introduced the “CrypTalk: University Caravan” to educate aspiring finance and technology professionals about blockchain and cryptocurrency.
So far, the caravan has visited 12 of the country’s largest universities, with a total attendance of 2000 students. GMMG plans to expand its reach to more colleges in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.
According to Coach Miranda Miner, understanding cryptocurrency enhances students’ financial literacy and decision-making skills. It empowers them to navigate this complex landscape with confidence. Learning about blockchain also opens up opportunities for students to engage with these platforms and potentially earn income, which is valuable in the digital economy.
As the demand for crypto and blockchain education grows, Coach Miranda Miner envisions a future where higher education curricula include specialized courses on blockchain, cryptocurrency, and Finance 4.0. These courses focus on decentralized finance, financial inclusion, risk management, and ethical practices.
