SIGGRAPH Asia is introducing new additions this year, which includes the inaugural Junior Computer Animation Festival. This festival is open to Junior (8-13 years) and Senior (14-18 years) participants. It aims to inspire students to explore the latest animation technology, enhance their technical skills, and encourage creativity at the intersection of art and technology. Additionally, the festival provides networking opportunities with industry professionals and experts, which can benefit potential careers in animation.
One more of the new additions is a collaborative program called “Super Speed Connectivity for Digital Twins,” integrating the online and physical worlds through extended reality and Digital Twins. This program provides real-time demonstrations connecting Sydney to other cities worldwide, showcasing the convergence of technology, art, and innovation. The program features high-quality streaming across continents, AR/VR-enabled digital twins for remote water treatment, and interactive live performances between Tokyo and Sydney. The ACM SIGGRAPH Hybrid Society ad-hoc Committee organizes this unique program, powered by AARNet and the WIDE Project, which pushes the boundaries of connectivity and creativity on a global scale.
