An independent Original Pilipino Music (OPM) band is gaining traction beyond the country.
Brando Bal, known for their music fused with blues, pop rock, and alternative rock, has signed an exclusive music distribution contract with Warner Music Philippines on January 12th, 2024.
The signing took place at the Warner Music Philippines Office in BGC, Taguig City. Present at the contract signing were key representatives, including Brando Bal’s Manager, John Lloyd Elsisura and Warner Music Philippines A&R Director, Kelley Mangahas.
Formed in 2020, Brando Bal is known for their hit single “Anghel” that garnered over 4.1 million streams on Spotify. The band had also released an EP called, “Experimental” that highlights their versatility and bold exploration of different musical genres. Among the tracks is “Pag-Ibig,” which has received more than 1.1 million streams on Spotify. The band is composed of Mark Brando Baloloy (guitar, vocals), Allen Lestingyo (guitar), Marjun Gonzales (bass), Zedrick Lara (keys), and Merwin Hipona (drums).
