Puregold Price Club, Inc. announced signing a partnership with Nissan Philippines to accelerate its sustainability efforts.
This June, Puregold adopted an environmentally friendly method to its store operations fleet by integrating seven Nissan Kicks e-POWER vehicles.
Nissan Kicks e-POWER uses a 100% electric motor-driven system, utilizing the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) technology. It still has a gasoline engine that acts as a range extender, charging the high-voltage battery pack for exceptional power efficiency.
“Our efforts to be more sustainable are central to a better future for younger generations and our long-term success as a company. We are committed to integrating sustainability across our operations and motivating our customers to join us in these efforts,” said Puregold Price Club, Inc. President Ferdinand Vincent Co.
Among Puregold’s sustainability initiatives includes, ‘Walang Plastic Grocery Days,’ which happens every Monday and Wednesday, where shoppers are educated in reducing plastic waste and being rewarded with PHP1 cashback for each eco bag used. Another is its transition to LED lighting to illuminate all Puregold’s stores to reduce energy consumption.
“The Nissan Kicks e-POWER aligns perfectly with Puregold’s commitment to sustainable practices. Its exceptional fuel efficiency and innovative electric motor technology will contribute significantly to Puregold’s environmental goals and operational cost savings,” said Nissan Philippines, President Yasuhisa Masuda.
