Public School Teachers, Students To Receive Premium Canva Access

144

Starting this November, public school teachers and other education personnel across the Philippines will be able to access the premium version of the leading online graphic design platform, Canva.

“Canva for Education” is a program aimed to foster digital design and creativity within Filipino classrooms. It could also support teachers as an “all-in-one” free visual communication platform for K-12 schools.

Teachers and DepEd personnel can access the Canva Premium for free by logging in their DepEd email accounts.

Education Secretary Sonny Angara signed the memorandum of agreement with leaders from an Australian software company at the Department of Education (DepEd) office in Pasig City to make this happen. Notably, Australian Ambassador Hae Kyong Yu was also present to witness the signing.

DepEd will start a training program with pilot training for selected teachers and staff from the Department central office. After the pilot, they will expand the training to 17 regions beginning in January next year.
