The Philippines has finally opened an inclusive new white beach for Muslim tourists in Boracay called “Marhaba Boracay.”
Marhaba Boracay is located in the Boracay Newcoast area, facing the famed “Lapus-Lapus” rock formation, aimed to be a “special-use area for Muslim travelers and families.”
“The launching of the Marhaba Boracay aligns with the DOT’s continuous efforts under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to promote Halal and Muslim-friendly tourism in the Philippines,” stated the Department of Tourism (DOT) in its news release.
The Malay government, DOT, and Megaworld Hotels & Resorts worked together to initiate the project. According to DOT, the cove was created based on similar Muslim-friendly beaches in popular tourist destinations such as the Maldives and Thailand.
