Typhoon Carina’s extreme weather has caused the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) to postpone its triple-header scheduled for Tuesday at San Andres Sports Complex in Malate, Manila.
Manila, currently one of the hottest teams in the league since Greg Slaughter’s arrival, was set to play against Zamboanga later that night. The postponed triple-header also included games between Sarangani and Iloilo, and Marikina and Valenzuela. With the regular season winding down, teams like Iloilo, Valenzuela, Zamboanga, and Manila, all in the playoff race, are aiming for big wins to boost their chances of making the Last 16.
“The affected games pitting Sarangani against Iloilo, Marikina against Valenzuela, and Zamboanga against host Manila will be played at a later date in the round-robin elimination phase of the 29-team tournament,” stated the MPBL.
The MPBL will have another break on Wednesday before resuming play on Thursday night at Caloocan Sports Complex.
