Meta launched a subscription service for Facebook and Instagram for users to remove personalized ads in the platform, thereby also being free from having data collected.

Please note that this feature will be accessible only to users residing in the EU, the European Economic Area, and Switzerland to comply with the European Union regulations. These users must be aged 18 and older.

The subscription fee for this feature may vary across these countries and could be as high as EUR9.99 per month on browsers. Meanwhile, the monthly fee might be up to EUR12.99 on iOS and Android.

Meta also plans to bring extra charges for linked accounts in the future.

Aside from that, Facebook and Instagram will not have additional ads, and users can customize their ad preferences.

Meta has not confirmed if the new paid tier will be available in other countries.
