Meta announced that users can support high-quality photos and share albums with others in Messenger chats, among many other features added.

However, sending HD photos or albums is more of an optional feature than by default. Users must turn the HD toggle on before sending the selected images. Sending multiple photos functions the same as the original, as long as the HD toggle is on.

Another added feature in Messenger chats is sharing an album in a group chat. To do this, select multiple photos from your chat composer and tap “create the album.” To add photos to an existing album, tap “add to album.”

The album is accessible to all chat members for viewing, adding, deleting, and downloading photos and videos. To find the album, simply tap the group chat’s name and select Media.

This feature will roll out gradually in the coming weeks.

Messenger also supports sending up to 100MB, including Word, PDF, and Excel files.
