Elon Musk, owner and CTO of X (Twitter), announced that a new AI model will be available on the social media platform, introduced by the artificial intelligence startup xAI.
Dubbed ‘Grok,’ this AI chatbot responds to questions with wit and sarcasm. It is designed to answer almost anything and even suggest questions to ask, thanks to its rebellious streak.

According to xAI, Grok uses a large language model called Grok-1, which has surpassed GPT-3.5 – the model used in the accessible version of ChatGPT – on specific benchmarks related to solving middle-school math problems. Despite its impressive capabilities, Grok-1 still falls short compared to the paid version, GPT-4, the most powerful model available.
Only X Premium+ subscribers will be able to access Grok.
Musk claimed that Grok has an advantage over ChatGPT due to its real-time access to information through the X platform. This means that the AI model learns from users’ posts on X.
For now, it is only available to verified US users. Additional features and capabilities will be introduced later.
