Felipe Gozon has recently announced his retirement as the Chief Executive of GMA Network Inc.
Effective January 1, 2024, Gilberto Duavit Jr. will become the CEO of GMA, while Felipe Gozon will remain the chairman of the board and adviser to the corporation.
In 1975, Felipe Gozon, Gilberto Duavit Sr., and Menardo Jimenez revived Republic Broadcasting System, Inc. (RBS), which later became GMA. These three individuals implemented various measures to make the company profitable, such as restructuring debt, upgrading equipment, and producing local shows.
For many years, GMA was the second most popular TV station. This changed when Gozon became the network’s leader in 2000. Under his leadership, GMA emerged as the leading broadcast network in the Philippines.
Reaching over 73 million Filipinos across the country, GMA is a trusted television network in the Philippines with over 100 TV and over 20 radio stations. They have won multiple international awards and are recognized for their reliable news reporting, including the New York Festivals and the US International Film and Video Festival.
