The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and GoTyme Bank Corporation agreed to work together on mobile registration for the National ID system, aiming to enhance financial inclusion.

Signed on September 10, 2024, this collaboration will allow unbanked Filipinos who register for the National ID system via mobile to open free bank accounts with GoTyme Bank.

“The PSA’s co-location strategy was not only designed to boost National ID registration but also to extend our reach in facilitating financial inclusion, especially to our underserved kababayans,” said Dennis Mapa, PSA Undersecretary and National Statistician.

Previously, the PSA partnered with the Land Bank of the Philippines on a similar strategy in 2022, enabling 5.8 million people to open transactional accounts.
