Taiwan’s electric scooters are hitting the Philippines! They’re being brought in by Globe’s 917Ventures with the help of their parent company, Ayala Corp.
Gogoro e-scooters and their battery-swapping stations will soon come to our local streets in late 2023.
“The official signing of the joint venture is a big stride in our goal to provide eco-friendly transport that places at the forefront environmental stewardship and mobility for businesses and individuals,” said Globe president and CEO Ernest Cu.
At a hefty USD8.5 million, this joint venture is diving deep – from importing to selling and even servicing Gogoro’s electric scooters in the country. On top of that, Gogoro Philippines will be rolling out its battery-swapping stations and handling all the after-sales business.
Since last February, The Philippines has held 100 Smartscooters, 400 smart batteries, and 7 GoStations.
“Our swappable battery system and smart mobility solutions will provide Filipino riders with sustainable, cost-effective and advanced transport,” said Gogoro PH CEO Bernie Llamzon.
