The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has reminded operators and drivers of public utility vehicles (PUVs) that only content rated “G” (General Patronage) and “PG” (Parental Guidance) is permitted for screening. This announcement comes as families, including children, travel to the provinces for New Year celebrations.
The MTRCB emphasized that public vehicles displaying motion pictures must adhere to the same regulations as traditional movie theaters to ensure appropriate content for all passengers.
“Our commitment is to ensure that the content shown in PUVs is safe for all passengers, especially children traveling with their families. This is part of our larger responsibility to provide a safe, secure and enjoyable travel experience for everyone,” explained Lala Antonio, MTRCB Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson.
Those violating the regulations can report them through its social media channels @MTRCBGov or email at complaints@mtrcb.gov.ph.
