Nissan Philippines has been designated the Official Mobility Partner for the 36th CAP-CSA and the 1st UN Tourism Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism for Asia and the Pacific. This joint meeting was held from June 26-28, 2024 in Cebu, in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT).
The UN Tourism Commission for East Asia and the Pacific and the UN Tourism Commission for South Asia hold a joint annual meeting to improve regional cooperation and discuss tourism challenges in the region. It was attended by member states, private sector representatives, and international and regional organizations, and representatives from the Office of the President.
The annual joint meeting also included the first UN Tourism Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism for Asia and the Pacific, bringing together destinations and international experts to share knowledge and best practices. The forum celebrated the power of gastronomy tourism and showcased the unique culture and delicacies of the country.
As part of its partnership, Nissan’s local dealer partners in Cebu provided 50 units of various models from the brand’s lineup to shuttle delegates during the event. One of these models includes the Kicks e-POWER Sport, the latest limited edition of the popular subcompact SUV.
“Nissan and the DOT have always had a good relationship filled with collaboration, as seen in our different partnerships throughout the years and most recently with Drive Pinas. Together, we share the goal of encouraging local tourism, featuring the best of what the country has to offer,” said Nissan Philippines President Yasuhisa Masuda.
In 2023, Nissan and the Department of Tourism (DOT) renewed their partnership with Drive Pinas to promote local tourism by highlighting diverse destinations and cultures and advocating for more inclusive and sustainable tourism.
