The votes are in! It turns out the way to someone’s heart is through their wallet if we go by the natural survey of Social Weather Stations (SWS).
Released last Sunday, the SWS personally surveyed 1,200 adults across the Philippines. Each 300 participants were from Metro Manila, Balance Luzon (or Luzon outside Metro Manila), Visayas, and Mindanao.
The participants were asked: “What gift do you want to receive from your loved one this coming Valentine’s Day?”
The results are:
Interestingly, more women (19%) wished for money as a gift on Valentine’s Day than men (12%). Meanwhile, more men (14%) asked for more clothes as their Valentine’s gift than women (5%).
The survey also found that 58% of Filipinos expressed being “very happy” with their love life. 76% of married males said they were “very happy,” while 67% of females responded similarly.
On the other hand, 23% of respondents said they “could be happier” with their love lives, while 19% had no love life.
“The latest percentage of those very happy with their love life is the highest since the record-high 59% in 2011,” noted the SWS.
