General manager Bryan Co of Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) warns against transacting with fake online accounts.

“The airline operators have clear and established protocols in safekeeping and disposal of lost or left behind items. Selling these items online is certainly not one of them,” said Co.

Co referenced a recent Facebook post claiming that lost luggage at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is being sold, expressing his dismay at fraudsters preying on unsuspecting individuals seeking online discounts.

“We appeal to everyone to be extremely careful and vigilant when browsing through the internet. Always exercise caution when engaging with online sellers. Do not be easy targets of scammers,” he added.

MIAA’s official announcements and other information are shared through its official Facebook page, X (formerly Twitter), and its Instagram and TikTok accounts @MIAAGovPH.
