Ayala Corporation sealed the deal to become the official Philippine distributor of BYD, the global leader in hybrid and pure electric vehicles.
Ayala will offer the luxury executive sedan, BYD Han; the spacious 7-seater family SUV, BYD Tang; and the compact hatchback, BYD Dolphin. The group will also bring the BYD ATTO 3, a highly awarded EV model, by the end of 2023. These will be available at BYD dealerships nationwide.
Ayala has everything needed to provide EV customers in the long run. The group has assets in renewable power generation, automotive distribution and dealerships, property development and management, manufacturing, financing and insurance, and digital connectivity. All these are essential elements for the EV ecosystem.
On the other hand, BYD offers a wide range of passenger and commercial vehicles that are value for your money. The company’s automotive manufacturing is also fully integrated, including the designing and assembling the vehicles, battery technology, electric powertrain development, and semiconductors. It also has invested in rail transit, renewable energy, and battery storage.
“These are compelling models that target different market segments and allow us to promote EV adoption across a wide range of customers. With BYD’s leading presence globally in EVs and given its recent success in other Southeast Asian markets, we at AC Motors aspire to build the same level of respect and relevance for the brand in the Philippines,” said AC Motors head Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala.
