The Philippines will once again stage the 46th Southeast Asian Shooting Association Championships, taking place from November 24 to December 14.
Over 300 shooters are expected to join the multi-shooting tournament, which features practical shooting, sporting clays, bench rest, and an Olympic shotgun (both trap and skeet shooting).
Hagen Topacio, Eric Ang, and Olympian Jethro Dionisio will lead the trap shooting team. Enrique Leandro Enriquez and Olympian Bryan Rosario will compete in the skeet event.
Among the participants in the women’s division will be Valerie Levanza, Abby Cuyong, Amparo Acuna, and Franchette Quiroz.
“It’s not really our first time to host it, but it’s going to be the biggest multi-shooting event that the Philippines will be hosting for the year,” said Irene Garcia, Secretary-General of the Philippine National Shooting Association (PNSA).
The upcoming event will be carried out in tandem with the Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA).
Garcia shared that the competition will assess the performance of Filipino shooters in preparation for the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) next year.
The 46th Southeast Asian Shooting Association Championships will be held in different locations:
- Practical Shooting (November 24 – December 2) – Magnus-Frontsight Firing Range in Lipa City, Batangas
- Bench Rest (November 24 – December 5) and Pistol Events (November 25 – December 30) – Marine Corps Training Center in Taguig City
- Sporting Clays (November 30 – December 9) – NCSAP Firing Range, Laperal Farm in Lipa, Batangas
